Using text masks in Photoshop is an excellent way to creatively present a brief message. In this step by step tutorial, I will walk you through the super easy process of creating text masks in Adobe Photoshop.
Here's how to do it
create a new ducument
Go to File > New Document
place the image into the document
Go to File > Place Embedded > Select Your Image
create your text
Grab the type tool (T). Select the area you want to type and type your text.
make a selection from the text
Go to the Text Layer. Cmd + Click the "T" of the Layer to create a selection from the text.
add a mask from the selection
Click your image layer. Go to Layer > Layer Mask > Reveal Selection or click the layer mask button at the bottom of the Layers Panel (the rectangle with a circle in it).
turn off the text layer to reveal the image in the mask
Go to your text layer and click the eyeball to turn it off. Now your image should be visible in your text.
Save and share your masterpiece!
